FOR THE LOVE OF SKATEBOARDING
Building and supporting a happy and thriving community is important to Ashley.
Wanting to build a community around her, led her being a leader for skateboarding in the Yukon.
She believes in encouraging youth, especially young girls, that they can do anything they set their minds to.
It’s about more than just skateboarding, it’s about self-motivation, confidence and having fun.
It’s creating a safe and supportive space for all folks to learn and push beyond what they thought they were capable of.
FOR THE LOVE OF COMMUNITY
Ashley is passionate about making skateboarding accessible for all folks to learn. Encouraging and supporting young girls in a sport that has traditionally not encouraged them, is powerful. She is working to be the change she wants to see in the world.
She has worked with the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, the City of Whitehorse, the City of Dawson, Salt Spring Island Parks & Recreation, Galiano Island Activity Centre, BGC Yukon, Champagne Aishihik First Nation, the village of Teslin and town of Watson Lake.
